Teacher searches for stolen automobile filled with propagandize reserve | MLive.com

GRAND RAPIDS, MI – A Grand Rapids proprietor and kindergarten clergyman is looking for any leads after her automobile was stolen from her home early on Monday, Dec. 5.

Megan Ruestman, a clergyman during G.T. Norman Elementary School in Reed City, was removing prepared to leave for work after 5 a.m. and detected her car, a 2003 red Chevrolet Impala, had been stolen from her home on a 100 retard of Fitzhugh Avenue in Grand Rapids.

Ruestman’s automobile contained personal effects as good as hundreds of dollars value of propagandize reserve for her students.

“It’s such a terrifying feeling,” she said. “It’s one thing if we can’t find your automobile in a parking lot, though when it was right in front of your house, it’s scary.”

Ruestman pronounced there were design and section books, notebooks, folders, paper and shelving units in her trunk. It was a second half of about $500 value of reserve that she had bought for her classroom.

“I had a garland of things in a case that was ostensible to be creation a approach to my classroom,” pronounced Ruestman. “I have to supply out of my possess pocket, like many teachers do.”

Since she teaches kindergarten, Ruestman replaces things like folders comparatively frequently, since they get ripped or misplaced. Some of a books in her case were her personal books that she had taken from her parents’ residence to share with her students.

“It’s a strike for my classroom, and it’s a strike for me personally, since now we don’t have a car, so we have to lease one to get to work,” she said.

Ruestman took a day off work on Monday to spend time looking for her car, though she doesn’t wish to take any some-more time off.

“It’s not an ideal situation, though we need to be there for my kids,” she said. “It’s not satisfactory to them to have a surrogate clergyman for several days in a row.”

Ruestman teaches a category of about 24 kids, many of whom come from low-income families.

After a courtesy that her Facebook post garnered, she has perceived concession offers from people wanting to help.

“It’s overwhelming since my kids need some-more than propagandize supplies, like hats, gloves, coats,” she said. “I learn a few homeless kids, a lot of kids who have been dealt an hapless palm flattering early in life. we do what we can to make them feel as protected and desired while we can.”

Ruestman hasn’t motionless if she will accept donations during this time.

So far, there have been no leads on a plcae of her car. Anyone with information is speedy to strech out to a Grand Rapids Police Department.
