BC schools will have some additional income for new materials this September.
Announced Sunday, a Province’s Student Learning Grant will deposit $29.4 million into BC propagandize districts. Independent schools will accept $2 million. The province’s 60 open propagandize districts will get a other $27.4 million, that averages out to about $50/student.
In a prepared statement, Education Minister Mike Bernier says a income “will upsurge in a entrance weeks,” and he expects “all propagandize districts to start articulate to relatives and teachers. They should have dual goals in mind: how to palliate back-to-school supply costs for relatives and how to move B.C.’s new curriculum to life in a classroom.”
Each propagandize will confirm how it’ll use a one-time grant. It can be spent on anything from textbooks to computers, and from jaunty rigging to art supplies.
The volume of appropriation any district will accept will be announced by a finish of February.
