Hands4Hope lady leaders and volunteers worked with internal businesses, agencies and village members to collect equipment that enclosed backpacks, notebooks, pencils, pens, H2O bottles and other propagandize supply items. The expostulate was led by Taylor Smith, H4H School Supply Drive Youth Committee Chair and Oak Ridge sophomore, who was mentored by Kelly McMillen, a new Oak Ridge connoisseur and a former cabinet chair for this event.
“It was an unbelievably eye-opening knowledge to see how a things that seem so elementary to some people can make a universe of a disproportion for others,” Smith said. “I had a good time operative behind a scenes on this project, though it unequivocally strike me when we got to privately correlate with a students. There was one lady who was going into sixth grade. We walked around a whole room dynamic to find a ideal backpack. Finally, we came opposite a navy blue JanSport backpack. we saw her whole face light adult with fun and she swooped that trek right up, totally incompetent to reason behind her smile. we satisfied that this trek might seem like zero most to many people, though for this honeyed girl, it was all in that moment. It’s practice like this that uncover me not usually only how advantageous we am, though also how large of an impact we can have on someone else’s life, and we am so grateful for that.”
H4H would like to appreciate a village members who participated in this expostulate for bringing fun and certainty to internal students this year. They would also like to appreciate a following internal partner businesses and agencies who collaborated on a School Supply Drive: Mercedes Benz of El Dorado Hills, Rolling Hills Community Church, Lake Hills Covenant Church, Barber Jon’s, Simm’s Chiropracti, and a Folsom Lake Earthquakes Soccer Club.
